All arrangement have been concluded for the commencement of the Waziri U-17 memorial soccer competition in honour of late Kwara state political icon, Dr Abubakar Sola Saraki, which kicks off on Wednesday May 1, in Baruten Local Government of the state.

The competition was introduced by Emirate Youth Sports to immortalize the late former second Republic Senate Leader.

The Chairman of the Main Organising Committee of the competition, Alhaji Ali Olola also said that the competition, which was conceived eight years ago when the political sage was alive, was introduced to discover hidden soccer talents in the state.

Olola said that the competition was sanctioned by the Kwara state government and Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki (CON), and the first memorial edition will be hosted by Baruten Local Government from May 1-17.

He added that all the 16 Local Governments have been told to prepare a team each for the party which will be used to elongate the legacies of late Saraki.
