Moshood Mustapha Inaugurates 12 Boreholes in Ilorin
The Vice Chairman, House Committee on Petroleum (Upstream), Alhaji Moshood Mustapha has inaugurated 12 boreholes he facilitated their construction for Oko-Erin ward in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The project, according to Mustapha was, apart from an additional 36 boreholes which had also been secured under the Federal Government’s rural water scheme for his constituency in Ilorin West and Asa local government areas of the state.
The 36 new ones were made up of 15 motorised and 21 hand-pump boreholes.
Speaking at the inauguration of the projects, Mustapha said it was incumbent on elected office holders to fulfill their campaign promises in order to enjoy the confidence and continued support of the electorate.
He said he decided to embark on facilitating the boreholes due to the fact that many residents of the benefitting communities were in need of access to potable water and also as a measure of support for the state government’s efforts at providing water for all.
Mustapha, who promised to support youth empowerment at the constituency also said he would rehabilitate the road leading to Gaa-Odota and sponsor the traditional ruler of the community to the next pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, representatives of the community had asked the lawmaker to work on the local electoral body to ensure the construction of a polling booth in the area as they argued that they now have enough population for such a development.
They also tasked him to assist them with transformer in order to improve on the supply of electricity to the area.
