Saraki commends Kwara Plumbers for CRS

Date: 2013-04-06

Senator Bukola Saraki of Kwara state has described the actions by the Nigeria Plumbers Association, in providing free repair services of water pipes to the good people of Kwara as heroic and outstanding urging other professional associations to follow suit.

The chairman, Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology through his media aide Bamikole Omishore made the disclosure Friday in a statement commending the Nigerian professional plumbers, Kwara Chapter.

Saraki said "I am amazed and delighted by the thoughtful decision of plumbers in Kwara state to carry out free repair of water pipes as a way of complementing all tiers of government in the provision of portable water for domestic and industrial uses which was done in the three senatorial districts of Kwara where necessary."

He commended the professional group for taking up the lead in offering to provide the corporate social responsibility for the state.

He said, " Truly, it is not how much we receive from others but how much we are able to give back; Kwara plumbers under the umbrella of the Nigeria Professional Plumbers Association, Kwara State Chapter have set a strong commendable record with their effort".

Beyond celebrating them, Saraki opined, the move is a challenge to all professionals and artisans in Kwara communities to also contribute to societal growth. The senate committee chairman on environment further noted "As a proud son of Kwara and Senator representing Kwara central, once again, I am delighted and I congratulate the association for such a thoughtful gesture; while we do our good works as professionals, let us not forget that our contributions can go beyond the doors of our shops and offices to the society as a whole- the simplest contributions we make are by far more powerful and will bring about more development as government alone cannot do it all."
