Kwara South ACN Rallies Members For Merger Convention

Date: 2013-04-06

The Kwara South Senatorial District of the Action Congress of Nigeria after its general meeting in Oro on Thursday indicated readiness to rally members of the party in the area for the merger convention slated for April 18.

In a statement issued in Oro on Thursday after the general meeting, the senatorial chairman said the party has already keyed into the merger plans and believe it is helpful for the cause of the progressives in Kwara State.

"At our last meeting, state chairmen of the ANPP and CPC were here to address us on issues bordering on the merger and all of us were on the same page. We are resolute here; it is the merger or nothing. This is a way God is moving to answer our prayers in this state.

"We urged the public to disregard the face-off between our state chairman, Mr. Kayode Olawepo and former gubernatorial candidate Mohammed Dele Belgore, SAN as an ingredient of partisan politics. The unfortunate development has no effect on us in the south because we are party people and not necessarily in the party to pursue ambitions", it stressed.
