The Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed has given an assurance that the State will soon embrace contributory pension scheme as part of government's drive to ensure that workers enjoy stress free post retirement life.

Governor Ahmed gave this indication in Ilorin on Tuesday when the management of Leadway Assurance Limited led by its Managing Director, Mr Hassan Odukale paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House.

The Governor noted that pension scheme has for a long time been problematic for Nigeria adding that the contributory scheme not only ensures that workers contribute towards their retirement but also takes away the post retirement uncertainties.

Governor Ahmed, who described contributory pension scheme as the future of pension, was of the view that the scheme has huge potentials of generating productivity and safety for everybody.

On insurance, Governor Ahmed said it was important for governments at all levels to take critical look at prevailing assets management strategies by embracing insurance culture which will guarantee proper management of assets.

The Managing Director, Leadway Assurance Limited Mr Hassan Odukale said his company was ready to partner with the Kwara State Government on insurance and related matters.
