Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Tuesday received the newly appointed Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani, during a courtesy visit to Ahmadu Bello House in Ilorin.

The visit provided an opportunity for the new Chief Imam to formally engage with the state government and strengthen the relationship between the Islamic leadership and the Kwara State Government.

Sheikh Dasuki, who recently assumed the revered position of Chief Imam of Ilorin, was warmly received by Governor AbdulRazaq during the visit.

His appointment marks a significant development in the religious leadership of the Ilorin Emirate, with expectations that his tenure will further promote Islamic scholarship, peaceful coexistence, unity and moral development among the people.

Governor AbdulRazaq has consistently emphasised the important role of religious leaders in promoting peace, unity and responsible citizenship across Kwara State.

The courtesy visit further underscored the importance of cooperation among traditional, religious and political institutions in advancing peace and development in the Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State at large.
