Kwara Govt Commends Peaceful Conduct of 2026 Common Entrance Examination

Date: 2026-08-03

The Kwara State Government has commended the peaceful and orderly conduct of the 2026 Common Entrance/Placement Examination into Junior Secondary School One, held across the state's 16 local government areas.

The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, gave the commendation while monitoring the examination at Offa Grammar School, Government Secondary School, Offa, and Queen Elizabeth School, Ilorin.

He attributed the smooth and hitch-free conduct of the examination to the timely release of funds by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, noting that the intervention ensured effective planning and coordination of the exercise.

"The examination was peaceful, orderly and one of the best we have witnessed in recent years. I commend the pupils, invigilators and all officials for their dedication and professionalism," Olohungbebe said.

The commissioner reaffirmed the state government's commitment to providing inclusive and quality education, urging parents and guardians to enrol their children in public schools.

He said the AbdulRazaq administration would continue investing in accessible and affordable education to ensure every child has the opportunity to receive quality learning.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Mrs. Olanrewaju Rebecca Bake, encouraged candidates to remain focused and continue to be worthy ambassadors of their schools, families and the state. She also commended teachers and examination officials for ensuring the successful conduct of the exercise.

Also speaking, the ministry's Director of Curriculum and Assessment, Alhaji Suleiman Ajape Salami, described the examination as successful, noting that examination materials arrived at all centres on schedule and the exercise commenced promptly.

An examination officer at Offa Grammar School, Mr. Babatunde, attributed the smooth accreditation process to the introduction and early distribution of candidates' photo cards, which simplified identification and reduced delays.

He appealed to private school proprietors and parents to ensure early registration of candidates in future examinations to minimise screening challenges.

Parents who monitored the exercise also expressed satisfaction with the timely distribution of examination materials, the prompt commencement of the examination and the absence of examination malpractice.

Senior officials of the Ministry of Education, alongside representatives of the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), monitored the examination at various centres across the state.
