Governor AbdulRazaq Inspects Justice Saidu Kawu Court House, Praises Work Quality
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Wednesday inspected the under-construction Justice Saidu Kawu Court House, expressing satisfaction with the pace and quality of work done so far.
Accompanied by the State's Chief Judge, Justice Abiodun Ayodele Adebara, the Governor said the multistorey project is borne out of his belief that the judiciary like others deserves to operate in a very decent environment.
"The work is going on very well. This is the major building of the Court House. We are trying to give the judiciary a better working environment," the Governor told reporters in Ilorin on the sideline of the visit.
"We have seen what His Excellency Nyesom Wike has done for the judiciary and we are trying to give another great edifice and masterpiece architecture that offers a very conducive environment for the judiciary. So, all we are doing is to make sure the standards are improved.
"The judges shouldn't be doing their work in sub-standard offices and infrastructure. So, we are also setting a standard that can be emulated in other parts of the country."
Justice Adebara, for his part, hailed the Governor for his consistent sensitivity to the welfare of the judiciary in the state.
"I am highly impressed and elated with what I have seen this afternoon. So, I want to, on behalf of the judiciary of Kwara State, appreciate His Excellency, the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for the wonderful job he is doing for the judiciary," he said.
"Not only this one, he is doing so many other things for the judiciary. But, with regard to this, it will greatly ease our jobs.
"We can see that our courts are just scattered all over in Ilorin and when this project is finally completed, we will have a compact headquarters in Ilorin. Other courts will be able to accommodate more judges and administration of justice will move on smoothly in the state. So, Your Excellency, we thank you sir."
