Kwara APC Presents INEC Nomination Form to Governorship Candidate Yakubu Danladi-Salihu
The Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, on Tuesday, officially presented the Independent National Electoral Commission nomination form to its governorship candidate, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu.
The presentation, conducted by the Kwara APC Chairman, Sunday Fagbemi, at the party's state secretariat in Ilorin, formally confirmed him as the party's flag bearer for the 2027 governorship election.
The event was attended by party leaders, executives, stakeholders and supporters, who gathered to reaffirm the party's readiness for the forthcoming governorship poll while emphasising unity and reconciliation within its ranks.
Speaking after receiving the nomination form, Danladi expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu, the APC National Leadership, the Leader of the APC in Kwara State and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the state party executives, ward leaders and other stakeholders for their support.
He said, "I thank Mr President, our national leadership, our leader in Kwara State, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, our party executives, ward leaders and every stakeholder for the confidence reposed in me."
The APC governorship candidate, who doubles as the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, also thanked fellow aspirants who contested the party's primary election with him, describing the exercise as a democratic process in which a winner was bound to emerge.
"By the grace of God, the APC is one family. We will remain united and emerge even stronger. Reconciliation is ongoing, and it is our responsibility to carry everyone along as we prepare for the governorship, National Assembly and State Assembly elections," he said. Danladi assured party members and the people of Kwara State that he would not disappoint the confidence reposed in him if elected, while praying for God's guidance throughout the electoral process.
Earlier, Fagbemi urged party members to exercise caution in their use of social media, warning against comments or posts capable of undermining the APC's ongoing reconciliation efforts.
"The reconciliation process is already underway. I appeal to all members to avoid actions capable of creating further divisions within our party. Let us remain disciplined, united and focused on securing victory in the forthcoming elections," the APC chairman said.
The presentation of the INEC nomination form marks another significant step in the Kwara APC's preparations for the 2027 governorship election as the party intensifies efforts to strengthen internal cohesion and mobilise support across the state.
