New Kwara NSCDC Commandant Vows Aggressive, Intelligence-Led Operations Against Crime
The newly deployed Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, CC Abbas Nda Mohammed, has pledged a more robust, intelligence-driven, and aggressive approach to combating insecurity and safeguarding lives as well as critical national infrastructure across the state.
Speaking during a media engagement with journalists in Ilorin on Wednesday, 15th April, 2026, Commandant Abbas stated that his administration will be firmly anchored on intelligence-led operations and proactive community engagement aimed at strengthening internal security architecture.
He further noted that under his watch, crime will not be tolerated in any form. Accordingly, he has directed all tactical unit heads to intensify 24-hour surveillance and patrol operations across strategic and vulnerable locations to enhance visibility, strengthen response capability, and prevent criminal activities.
Commandant Abbas issued a stern warning to criminal elements, stressing that Kwara State would not be a safe haven for any form of criminal activity. He affirmed that the Command remains fully prepared to deploy all lawful measures to detect, prevent, and prosecute offenders in line with existing laws.
Reaffirming the importance of synergy in modern security management, CC Abbas assured that the command will continue to deepen collaboration with sister security agencies, traditional institutions, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders, in addressing emerging and evolving security challenges.
He further reiterated the Command's unwavering commitment to professionalism, discipline, and effective service delivery, while calling on residents of Kwara State to remain vigilant and support security efforts by providing timely, accurate, and credible information to relevant authorities.
