Date: 2026-01-16

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has received praise for approving the relocation of the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development to a more modern and conducive office environment located along Fate Road, Ilorin.

The Commissioner for the Ministry, Chief (Mrs.) Abosede Olaitan Buraimoh, expressed her gratitude during the Ministry's first New Year meeting on Thursday. She described the move as a clear demonstration of the Governor's commitment to the welfare of civil servants and the improvement of the state's administrative infrastructure.

Chief Buraimoh urged the management and staff to reciprocate the Governor's gesture by being more proactive and resourceful. She emphasized that the new workspace should serve as a catalyst for "impactful innovations" aimed at advancing the state's solid minerals sector.

"All the staff have demonstrated passion, commitment, and hard work in recent times, making them an amazing team to work with," the Commissioner noted, while also reminding them of the importance of maintaining the new facility and upholding strict punctuality.

In addition to professional advice, the Commissioner encouraged the staff to prioritize their personal health through routine checks and to maintain strong family relationships to avoid burnout.

Technical leads, including the Director of Geological Service, Mr. Isiaka Ajeigbe, and the Director of Personnel, Finance, and Supply, Mr. Sanni Ismaila, also expressed their appreciation. They noted that the relocation to a more comfortable office space would significantly enhance synergy between directorates and sector stakeholders in the coming year.
