Don wants sack of Kwara CJ probed

Date: 2012-02-23

THE Dean, Faculty of Law, Igbinedion University, Prof. Rasheed Ijaodola, has canvassed the trial of all those involved in the removal from office Kwara State's Chief Judge, Raliat Elelu-Habeeb, before her recent reinstatement by the Supreme Court.

According to Ijaodola yesterday in a chat with The Guardian in Ilorin, those allegedly responsible for the removal committed treason and should be tried accordingly.

"The court should ask them the reasons for their action leading to the removal of the number-one judge in the state. It was treasonable for anyone to have done that. They should all be tried", he said.

Although the state government, through the state Attorney General, Kamaldeen Ajibade, had complied with the judgment of the apex court ordering Habeeb's reinstatement, the law teacher said the two years in service lost by the judge should be restored.
