Kwara Garment Factory Secures Preferred Bidder for Outsourced Management
The Kwara State Commissioner for Business, Innovation and Technology (BIT), Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, has confirmed that a preferred bidder has successfully emerged for the management of the state's garment factory. This outcome follows an advertisement for the expression of interest which was published in national newspapers, fully complying with public procurement regulations.
The Commissioner stated that the garment factory will now be subject to a temporary shutdown. This closure is necessary to allow for essential pre handover maintenance and thorough inventory checks.
This development was detailed in a statement signed by the Commissioner on Monday in Ilorin.
Adelodun also advised that all civil servants who were temporarily transferred (seconded) to the factory are to report back to their respective ministries. Trainees at the facility are encouraged to apply directly to the successful bidder for potential employment opportunities.
She further confirmed that all existing trainees will be compensated with a one month training allowance for their time.
