The long arm of the law caught up with the accused following the arrest of a notorious cultist, Olumoh Olatunbosun Aliyu, by the operatives of the State Security Services on January 15, and his subsequent arraignment before Magistrate B.A. Baraje.

The said Olumoh was said to have confessed to his mates and activities within Ilorin and its environs which led to the apprehension of other members of Eiye Confraternity, otherwise known as "Black Axe" on January 28.

Items allegedly recovered from the accused are a large box of various criminal charms, four cutlasses and a locally made long range dane gun.

First Information Report (FIR) on the matter stated that investigation conducted at the Kwara State Command of the State Security Service (SSS) revealed that the accused are members of Aiye Confraternity otherwise known as "Black Axe" contrary to the law.

The prosecutor, Barrister J.A. Mumini, the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Kwara State objected to the bail of the accused and urged the court to remand them at the SSS custody to enable them continue further investigation on how to apprehend other members of the gang at large.

The presiding judge, Chief Magistrate Nurudeen Adeyanju granted the oral application of the prosecutor, as he ordered that the accused be remanded at the SSS custody until February 28 when the matter would come up again for further mention.
