KWASU Governing Council Visits Offa Palace to Console Olofa

The Chairman of the Governing Council of Kwara State University (KWASU), Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali OON, has paid tribute to the late mother of the Olofa of Offa, Alhaja Hawawu Awele Gbadamosi, describing her as an accomplished, dignified, and devout matriarch who lived a fulfilled life.

Professor Ambali led a delegation of the university's Governing Council and Management on a condolence visit to the palace of the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Muhammed Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, on Wednesday, 9th March 2025. He conveyed the collective grief of KWASU's council, staff, and students, praying for divine strength for the monarch and the Offa community.

“The passing of this revered matriarch is a profound loss. We share in your grief and pray Allah grants you the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss,” Ambali stated.

In response, the Asalofa of Offa, High Chief Alhaji Isiaka Shittu, thanked the KWASU delegation for their solidarity, acknowledging the university's support during the community's period of mourning.

He thanked God for granting Alhaja Gbadamosi a long and exemplary life, allowing her to leave a lasting legacy.

At the forecourt of the Olofa, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Professor Moshood Mahmood Jimba, led prayers for the late Alhaja Hawawu Awele Gbadamosi, the Olofa, and the entire Offa Community.

Professor Jimba noted that Offa was a notable town renowned for its abundance of exceptional sons and daughters who are contributing to national development in key sectors.

Professor Jimba said it was joyful that Olofa accended to the throne of his forefathers during the lifetime of his mother and prayed for divine strength and comfort to help the monarch cope with the loss.

He also prayed that Allah grant the late Alhaja Gbadamosi Janatul Firdaus.

On the entourage of the Chairman of KWASU Governing Council, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali OON was the Vice Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Professor Moshood Mahmood Jimba; Professor Ibrahim Jawondo; Barriater Teju Oguntoye; the Registrar, Dr. Kikelomo Sallee; the Bursar, Alhaji Mohammed Sani Abubakar; and the University Librarian, Professor Abdulsalam Abiodun Salman.

Also on the team were Emeritus Professor Musbau Akanji FAS; Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies, Professor Olawale Mashood Aliyu; Professor Taibat Yusuf; Director University Relations, Dr Saeedat Aliyu; Dr Hussein Zubair; Mr. Dauda Kayode Ajibade; and Mr. Isiaka Babatunde, among others.
