Kwara State Warns Motor Parks Over Environmental Law Violations During Sanitation
According to Daily Trust, the Kwara State Government has voiced its dissatisfaction with certain commercial motor park operators who have been flouting environmental regulations during routine sanitation activities.
This announcement was made by the Commissioner for Environment, Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge, over the weekend as she supervised the monthly state-wide sanitation exercise.
During the initiative, more than 200 individuals were apprehended for environmental offences and subsequently brought before various mobile courts.
Hajia Buge stressed that the state would no longer condone violations by motor park operators, noting that such actions undermine the government's ongoing environmental efforts.
City & Crime learnt that the affected parks used to load passengers during the period of the weekly environmental sanitation exercise and operate normally while the event lasted.
It was gathered that some offenders are members of the ministry's environmental task force team.
