Honourable Moshood Adeleke Foundation Hosts Unity Football Tournament
According to a news report from Daily Trust, the Honourable Moshood Adeleke Foundation (HMA) has organised a unity football competition for youths in Kwara State.
The tournament saw Ijaabo FC emerge victorious in the Super Eight category, while Saare triumphed in the Super Four. The event aimed to foster continuous cordial relations among the communities in the Kwara South Senatorial District.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, the foundation's convener, Moshood Adeleke, said the competition was designed to bring communities in the district together, enabling them to learn more about one another.
He said, “This is my own way of giving back to the communities that nurtured me, and I want to start with the youths because they hold the light to the development of Kwara State. Football is a sport that we all love, so the sportsmanship exhibited during the tournament enabled us to set aside our differences.”
While stating that the success of the event showed how the youths can work together, he promised to venture into other areas that would bring about harmony in the communities in the area.
He further said, “I want to thank all royal fathers and indigenes for supporting us throughout this Ileya Tournament. We promise to bring more of such competitions to unite our youths. I am overwhelmed by the outcome, and with me and you, we can build a better Kwara South and Kwara State as a whole.”
