KWARA: AD BERATES STATES GOVT, JUDICIAL WORKERS OVER STRIKE
The Kwara State chapter of the Alliance for Democracy, AD, has expressed its displeasure over the indefinite strike action embarked upon by the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, in the state on the reinstatement of the chief judge of the state, Justice Raliat Habeeb-Elelu by the Supreme Court.
The chairman and secretary of the party in the state, Billiaminu Aliu and Micheal Ologunde, in a statement noted that the state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, needed to intervene and call the workers to order as a matter of urgency.
According to the party stalwarts, "We want to remind the Kwara State Judiciary workers that their industrial action amount to justice delay, which is justice denied. We, the members of AD, therefore advise the judiciary workers not to allow politics to override their professional etiquette.
"We urge the entire judiciary workers to suspend their strike and join hands together with Justice Raliat Habeeb-Elelu to revive our sick judiciary and allow the rule of law and justice to reign."
The party therefore urged the reinstated Chief Judge to see the action of the workers as civil rights under true democracy, noting that both parties should be ready to work together amicably without any hatred in the interest of peace.
"We also appeal to the reinstated CJ not to victimise the aggrieved workers for a tree cannot make a forest," the party said.
