A magistrates' court sitting in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, has remanded one Babatunde David for allegedly stealing N327,000 meant for the school fees of one Ojeleye Oluwadamilola and her siblings.
The accused was petitioned by Ojeleye, an HND II marketing student of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin.
According to the Police First Information Report (FIR), Oluwadamilola came to school with her original school credentials for registration and mobilisation into her NYSC programme.
“At the same time, she was having her last examination and kept her iPhone XS Max valued at N270,000 together with her school fees and those of her other siblings, valued at N327,000 inside her bag that contained her credentials.
“In the course of writing the exam, the students were ordered to keep their bags away and Oluwadamilola placed hers that contained her belongings in the front of the class from where you stole it,” the FIR said.
“Instead, he sold the iPhone to one Damilola, who is at large for N10,000.”
