The annual "Doctor Bukola Saraki golf open championship" will not be coming up this year as expected.

Revealing this at a press conference held this week at the Ilorin Golf club; sponsor of the golfing competition; Honourable Ali Ahmed Patigi said the cancellation of this year's edition was done in honour of the late Alhaji Olushola Saraki, father of the former Governor of Kwara state and propriety of ABS Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki.

Honourable Hamed Patigi extolled the achievements of senator Bukola Saraki while in office as a governor and even now as a senator and expressed his disappointed that the tournament would have being a perfect oppourtunity to once again appreciate the contributions of the former governor to the development of the state.

The Governor Bukola golf open is an annual golfing showpiece in Kwara state staged in honour of the former governor on the 19th of December(his birthday) with Honourable Ali Ahmed Patigi sponsoring the event since it's 3rd edition and had it gone ahead, this year's edition would have been it's 8th edition.

Meanwhile, the 3rd edition of the kwara state all stars champions league was concluded over the weekend with blue mist water winning beating Balinga fc 5-4 on penalties.
