IESA welcomes Alfanla's emergence as UNILORIN's Registrar-designate
The appointment of Barrister Mansur Adeleke Alfanla as the Registrar-designate of the University of Ilorin has been described as a worthy development and a befitting Ramadan gift for staff of the University.
This assertion was made by the Chairman of the Ilorin Emirate Staff Association(IESA), University of Ilorin, Prof. Suleiman Funsho Ambali,while reacting to the development.
Prof. Ambali,in a press statement signed on his behalf by the Secretary-General of the Association, Mallam Abubakar Imam, said that the Association was delighted that a prominent member of the IESA had been found worthy of holding the position of Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council of the University at this critical time in the history of the institution.
The renowned academic and administrator said that the appointment of Barrister Alfanla is very historic considering the fact that he would be the first son of the University's host community appointed to serve as the Registrar of the institution since the tenure of his senior compatriot and the University's second and longest-serving Registrar, late Alhaji Abdulkadir Oba Adebayo Alao ended in 1998. He added that the appointment of Barrister Alfanla also followed that of Alhaji Kassim Kayode Babamale,another outstanding member of the Association,who was last year appointed as the pioneer Registrar of the Federal University of Health Sciences,Ila-Orangun,Osun State.
The statement described the Registrar-designate as an honest,hardworking, courageous and resourceful gentleman who would surely work assiduously with other stakeholders to ensure that the University improves upon its rating as a leading varsity in Nigeria.
Prof.Ambali,who is also the Deputy Vice Chancellor(Management Services) of the University, commended the University Council for appointing this distinguished son of Ilorin as Registrar-designate and the members of the University community and other stakeholders for joyfully welcoming the appointment..
Prof. Ambali advised Barrister Alfanla to put his vast experience to assist the present administration under the able leadership of Prof. W.O Egbewole SAN realise its vision 1:10:500 for the university. He prayed that Almighty Allah grant the incoming Registrar a very successful tenure of office.
