Date: 2023-03-16

The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) in Kwara has begun the distribution of sensitive materials to the 16 local government areas in the state.

The exercise taking place at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in Ilorin is witnessed by representatives of security agencies, political parties, election observers and the media.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that so far four vehicles loaded with sensitive materials have left for their assigned local government areas.

In an interview with newsmen at the venue, the INEC Administrative Secretary, Malam Shehu Maiyanga, expressed optimism that with the pace of work, the exercise would be completed within the day.

Maiyanga, who assured a hitch-free election, said that challenges recorded in the last election had been addressed.

The INEC official urged eligible voters to come out en masse and perform their civic responsibility as adequate security has been put in place.
