Date: 2023-03-16

Kwara United have emerged champions of the 2023 edition of the Kwara State federation cup organised by the Kwara State Football Association.

The Harmony boys defeated ABS Ilorin FC 4-2 on penalties on Wednesday to clinch the trophy in a well attended final which was held at the Kwara Football Academy.

Both teams played out a goalless draw in a enthralling regulation period where ABS Ilorin FC gave the State owned team a run for their money.

Earlier in the day, Kwara Ladies United edged Moje Queens 2-1 to win the female version of the State FA Cup.

The finalists in the male and female categories will be representing Kwara State in the National version of the FA Cup where they will face off with teams from other states of the federation.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are expected to release the schedule for the National tournament very soon.
