Court Sacks Kwara APC Reps, Declares Opponent Winner
The Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State, has nullified the election of Hon. Raheem Olawuyi Ajuloopin as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Isin/Oke-Ero/Ekiti/Irepodun Federal Constituency of the House of Representatives in the 2023 election.
Justice Mohammed Sani, while delivering the judgement in Ilorin, declared Oluwasegun Adebayo, the son of a former governor of the state, as the winner.
Adebayo, in the suit filed before the court, said Ajuloopin sought to get the Kwara South APC Senate nomination and participated in the primary election that eventually produced Senator Lola Ashiru as the winner.
Reacting to the court judgement in separate statements, while Adebayo described it as a victory for all, the lawmaker expressed unflinching faith in the nation's judiciary.
