Kwara Govt to hold free medical, surgical outreach across 16 LGAs

Date: 2022-07-24

The Kwara government will, on August 4, begin free medical and surgical interventions across the state’s 16 Local Government Areas (LGA).

In a statement, the health commissioner, Raji Razak, said Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazak of Kwara had approved the conduct of the free medical and surgical outreach.

“The programme will include free medical treatment, free minor surgeries, free eye surgeries and reading glasses for indigent members of the public,” he said.

The commissioner also said each local government had a scheduled date and time for the medical and surgical interventions.

According to him, the medical outreach will commence in Moro Local Government area on August 4 at the Primary Health Care facility in Malate.

“The outreach will take place in Asa LGA on August 11 at Mother and Child Hospital Eyekorin and Ilorin West at General Hospital on August 18.

“Others include Ilorin East LGA on August 25, at Magaji Area PHC, and Ilorin South on September 1, at Civil Service clinic, among others,” he said.
