Be ready to make sacrifices, Saraki tells Nigerians
Former governor of Kwara State, Senator Bukola Saraki, has said the nation must be ready to suffer some probable inconveniences if Nigeria's dream to be in the league of the 20 largest economies in the world by year 2020 must be a reality.
The former governor, who stressed that all hands must be on deck to ensure that rule of law reigns, noted that the sacrifices have to do with suffering some probable inconveniences that would allow rule of law to reign, ensure quality education, more job opportunities and make the on-going reforms of the government on economic sector a success.
Saraki stated this weekend in Ilorin when he delivered a lecture on the vision 20-2020 at a reception organised by the forum of professors of Kwara State origin working at University of Ilorin.
The former chairman of Nigeria Governors' Forum said: "We must find the will to complete the process of deregulation of the economy by putting in place a well-structured over reaching framework for regulation and order.
"Much investment is needed in the area of education, agriculture, transportation and power. These are the minimum base."

Saraki also said that a great commitment is required of government and other stakeholders to the project diversification of our economic base and encouragement of greater participation of the private sector in the economy if the target is to be successfully achieved.
