Again, Kwara Assembly reprimands lone PDP member for contempt

Date: 2022-01-06

Jimoh Raheem Agboola, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, lone member in the Kwara State House of Assembly, has again been reprimanded by the House for alleged contempt and breach of privileges.

DAILY POST reports that he is to abstain from the service of the House for 14 days in line with Order 10, Rule 16, Sub-sections 4 and 11 of the House rules.

The embattled lawmaker from Ilorin South constituency, is also to apologize to the House without which the order abstaining him will not be waived.

The order was handed down on Wednesday, in a resolution contained in the report laid by the Chairman, Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Judiciary, Ganiyu Folabi Salahu, (Omupo), before the House.

The report on the motion without notice raised by the House Leader, Hon Magaji Abubakar Olawoyin, (Ilorin Central) on the contempt and breach of privileges by Hon Jimoh Raheem Agboola, was presented and laid on the table of the House by the Chairman of the committee.

The report was thereafter considered at the committee of the whole House.

Agboola, was earlier suspended by the House last year.

Efforts to reach him on Wednesday were not successful.
