According to the guidelines, any executive member at the ward and local government levels, who has spent a cumulative period of eight years and above in the executive position capacity, should step aside to enable new party members contest for the available positions in the state’s forthcoming congresses.

The guidelines also directed that women should be allowed 30 percent of the available positions at both ward and local government levels.

Also, at both ward and local government levels, 30 percent of the executive members should be new faces who have not held any position previously or in the past.

"No individual, groups or association are allowed to influence whether directly or indirectly the choice of executive members," the statement added.
