Late Kwara ex-Deputy Speaker's children donate health facility, boreholes to community

Children of the late ex-deputy speaker of the Kwara state House of Assembly Hon Ayodele Shittu have donated a basic healthcare facility and five boreholes to Offa community, Offa local government area of the state.

The gesture marked the one year anniversary of the death of the politician and an Industrialist.

While the Basic Health Center was built at his family compound at Isale Ago in Offa, the boreholes were spread across five electoral wards in Offa community.

The boreholes were sited in Balogun, Ojomu Central 'A', Ojomu South East and 2 in Ojomu North and North West respectively which were commissioned on Thursday.

Speaking at the commissioning, Senator representing Kwara North district Umar Sadiq praised the community development initiative of the children for building the health clinic which was in line with the belief of their late father.

He advised members of the community to take adequate care of the facility which he said was their property.

In a sermon delivered at the prayers to mark the one year anniversary of the demise of Shittu, a senior lecturer at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Dr Kamaldeen Alli who is also the Mufasir of Offa called on people to do goods while on earth advising them to be wary of their ways of life as everyone would account for all his or her deeds on the day of judgement.
