IEDPU announces death of ex-Auditor,mourns passage

The Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), has announced the death of its former National Auditor, Alhaji Jimoh Garuba.

Alhaji Garuba,who served the Kwara State Local Government Service Commission as an Auditor for so many years prior to his retirement,died at the age of 81.

Alhaji Garuba,who was popularly known as Baba Oke-Oyi,died in the early hours of Monday,February 22,2021 at his ancestral home of Odebode Compound,Oke-Oyi.

Quoting a member of the deceased's family, Dr.Tajudeen Ishola,the Union said that the remains of Alhaji Garuba shall be buried today at Oke-Oyi after a Janaza prayer to be led by the Chief Imam of Oke-Oyi, Alhaji Oba Zubair by 10am.

Meanwhile,the National President of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman, fsi,has described the death of Alhaji Garuba as a huge loss to Ilorin Emirate and the nation at large.

Alhaji Uthman, in a statement signed by the Union's National Publicity Secretary,Abubakar Imam, recalled the fascinating contributions of the deceased to the development of the Union and Ilorin Emirate at large as the pioneer Chairman of its Oke-Oyi Branch,former IEDPU National Auditor and as an ex-officio member of its National Executive Council, saying that the IEDPU would sorely missed the services of the elder stateman.

The Union urged the family of the deceased and the entire people of Oke-Oyi, the headquarters of Ilorin East to accept the death of Alhaji Garuba as an act of God as it added that they should also take solace in the fact that he did not only lived an exemplary life but also served Islam,the nation and humanity,at large ,to the best of his ability.

While praying to Allah to grant the soul of Alhaji Garuba Al-Janah fridaouz,Alhaji Uthman wished the relations,friends and colleagues of the late financial technocrat the fortitude to bear his death.
