FEDPOFFA RECTOR, DR. OLATUNJI BAGS BEST RECTOR AWARD

The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, Dr. Lateef Ademola Olatunji has been awarded the best Rector in human and capital resources by 1990 set of Anglican Comprehensive College Offa Old Students Association.

The old students awarded the Rector alongside other awardees at the 30th year anniversary of 1990 set held at the college on 28th December, 2020.

The President of the set, Mr. Nurudeen Salami in his opening address, said the association has deemed it necessary to honour outstanding teachers who imparted meaningfully on them during their days in school as well as well meaning personalities who have contributed relevantly to the development of the school. Speaking further, he said the 1990 set has magnanimously renovated two class rooms in the school and has been granting scholarship to outstanding students of the school for many years.

The Principal of the college, Mr. Kolawole thanked the 1990 set for the supports they have been rendering to the college.

He said, "1990 set has really impressed me a lot. Since I became principal of the school, they have tremendously made impact and my appreciation goes to them for their efforts and support regularly. Your efforts is conspicuously recognized."

Responding to the award, Dr. Olatunji commended the assiduous efforts of 1990 ex-students of the college for giving back to the school and teachers that made them. The Rector who is also a product of the College said the 1990 set of old students has done well for the college in terms of development. He further charged old students at national level to collectively come together and do something worthwhile for the college.

According to him, " I thank you for the honour and for inviting me as an awardee. Although, I'm 1978 set but I'm proud to be associated with this set of old students. We all know so many sets have not done well for this college but 1990 set have excelled in all the sets. It has become a responsibility for all of us to support this great college that produced us" Elder Ogunbiyi, an octogenarian and former principal of the college thanked the 1999 set for remembering him as their principal during their days in school.

" I'm very happy today because I didn't expect any award. I thought I was harsh but today I thank God that l am not hated. I love all my students and I pray for them everyday. And I pray that they should be higher than myself and today, many of you are highly placed. May God continue to bless and strengthen you all", he added.
