The management board of Kwara United on Monday approved the appointment of Aliyu Zubair as chief coach of the side for the upcoming 2012/2013 NPL season.

Other appointments approved by the board include Jimoh Balogun as assistant coach while coaches Badmus Rasheed and Abdulkadri Shuaib become physical trainer and goalkeeper trainer respectively.

The appointees will complement the technical acumen of Samson Unuanel unveiled on Saturday as the technical adviser of Afonja Warriors.

The appointments take immediate effect on Monday.

supersport.com learnt that the assistants will team up with Unuanel in assessing the old players as well as screening of invited players who are ready to put on Kwara United colours.

An official of the llorin-based side, Olayioye Ajide said the coaches were appointed based on their individual wealth of experience on the job.

"The coaches were considered in respect of their experience and qualifications as well as their close knowledge of the club.

"It's on record that coach Aliyu Zubair served as chief coach in the last league season, coach Badmus Rasheed handled Kwara United some seasons ago.

"Coach Shuaib was goalkeeper trainer of the side in the just gone league season and Jimoh Balogun was a coach at Kwara Football Academy," said Ajide.

The Bamidele Aluko led board has directed the coaches to work together to accomplish the target of Kwara United in the new league season which are trophies and continental ticket.
