Some of the friends, co-workers and relations of the deceased were seen weeping when they saw her lifeless body at the scene of the incident.
Worried by the development, Commissioner of Police, Mr. Peter Gana, with Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Mr. Yinka Aluko, at an emergency briefing at Government House, yesterday, said all the security agencies in the state have involved vigilante groups, members of the Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, and other stakeholders in the task of tackling the problem.
Gana also hinted that a committee headed by the Deputy Governor, Mr Peter Kisira, has been set up to suggest ways of gradually phasing out commercial motorcyclists (Okada) in the state with tricycles.
There were reports that the attackers usually succeeded in their devilish acts with the use of unregistered motorcycles.
The Police Commissioner advised residents of areas such as Adewole, Sabo-Oke, and A division, with B division areas to walk in groups, in the evening or in dark areas.
Contacted yesterday on the development, the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Ezekiel Dabo, confirmed the incident, adding that the state police had devised a strategy to curb the trend in the state.

Meanwhile, residents of Ilorin now avoid any engagements that would take them outside as they go to bed as early as 8pm due to fear of being attacked.
