No Positive Case Of COVID-19 Among Our Members - Kwara PSN

Mr Aliu Bakau, Chairman, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Kwara branch, says none of his members in the state has tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease.

Bakau made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the sidelines at the inauguration of the newly refurbished Secretariat of the society on Thursday in Ilorin.

He explained that in spite of the fact that members of the society were part of the frontline health workers fighting against COVID-19 in the state, no member has been diagnosed with the disease.

According to him, the association has been active in the fight against the pandemic, through the distribution of sanitisers, facemasks and other preventive measures to the communities across the state.

Bakau said that inauguration of the secretariat was the culmination of all the seven points agenda of his administration.

According to him, these include social welfare, acquisition of new bus and rehabilitation projects, among others.

Bakau explained that though, the tenure of his administration was coming to an end, he had left legacies on which subsequent administrations would build upon for development of the association.

The chairman noted that the newly refurbished secretariat would take care of the needs of members, with facilities such as befitting reception, establishment of physical and virtual libraries and ante rooms for relaxation, among others.

In his goodwill message, Prof. Isaac Aremu, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Ilorin, commended the present administration of the society for the facility.

Aremu urged incoming leaders of the society to build on the achievements of the outgoing executive members.

Also, Mr Abdulrahman Afolabi, the Director of Pharmaceutical Services, University of Ilorin, said that the society needed progressive minds in the state.

Afolabi also urged the incoming executive members to take a cue from the present ones and build on their achievements.
