Ahmed Urges Nigerians to Support Govt to Build a Prosperous Nation.
Ahmed, made the call today at the fifty second Independence Anniversary celebrations of the country, held at the Metropolitan Square, Ilorin.
Ahmed who was represented by his Deputy, Mr. Peter Kisira, reaffirmed that government was determined and would continue to create conducive environment for maintenance of peace in the State.
The Governor noted that his administration was committed to creating shared prosperity for all, through the provision of more jobs for the Youth, widespread social and physical infrastructure and sustained economic growth, through robust agricultural programmes.
According to him, government intended to commence new Road Projects, Education, Health Energy, Water and Security interventions, as part of the quest to ensure that development was not only consolidated but also inclusive.
Ahmed, noted that Nigerians can overcome some of the problems confronting the country and build a Nation that they would be proud of calling on them to remain committed to working together for a prosperous country.
The Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Professor Gana Yissa said the country had improved and achieved a lot and charged Nigerians to be committed to the growth of the country.
Also speaking, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold charged Nigerians to remain united and ensure togetherness for the development of the Nation.
The State Head of Service, Alhaji Dabarako Mohammed, on his part, appealed to Civil Servants to continue to be diligent and hardworking.
Dabarako, reiterated the commitment of the government to create a virile Civil Service, adding that programmes that would improve their well being would continue to be embarked upon.
The occasion witnessed the inspection of the special guard mounted by the Nigeria Police Force by the Deputy Governor, Elder Peter Kisira and match past. The Police Children School, Kulende emerged first in match past, while the Command Secondary School came second.
