Professor Oladosu said this while delivering the one Hundred and fifteenth Inaugural Lecture of the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria, held at the University's Auditorium.

The Don who spoke on "Fluctuations in the fortunes of Arabic Education in Nigeria", said Nigeria was endowed with abundant natural resource, human capital and all that is required to be a great Nation, but lacked visionary leaders.

Professor Oladosu, who stressed the need to eradicate the factors responsible for the fluctuations in the fortunes of Arabic Education in Nigeria, added that the status of Arabic should be elevated to a required subject at the Post-Basic and Senior School educational levels.

The University Don noted that the study of Arabic does not necessarily convert a non-Muslim Student of Arabic to Islam.

Professor Oladosu who is the Director for the Centre for Ilorin Studies of the Institution, emphasised the need for the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies of Nigeria, to improve upon its current efforts towards a nationwide advocacy and mobilization to sensitise stakeholders on Arabic Education in Nigeria. Speaking earlier, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Is'haq Oloyede described the Inaugural Lecturer as a God fearing man, who has been contributing immensely to the propagation of Islam.
