Governor AbdulRazaq reassures Kwarans of Bacita Sugar Company's revival

The Kwara State Governor, His Excellency AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has again assured Kwarans of better life ahead as his visitation train lands at Bacita Sugar Company.

The governor who arrived Bacita around 7:30pm after paying unannounced visit to Lafiagi waterworks, BUA company and KWCOET Lafiagi was welcomed by energetic youths tired of their unemployed status quo.

Bacita Sugar Company was one of the highest employers of over 10,000 staffs aside casual workers years ago but presently lying fertile but abandoned for years.

While being received by the cheering populace who obviously have lost hope before now but rekindled by the governor's reassuring visit took turn to express how happy they would be if the assurance materialize.

The governor who gave account of his meeting with AMCON reiterated that the meeting necessitated his on the spot assessment visit of the abandoned company noting that having industries come in to partner the government in the total overhauling and turn around of the state's economy will birth financial sustainability which will translate into employment opportunities for the youths not forgetting the infrastructural development that will spring up in major communities that play host to the industries.

Sheriff Umar one of the graduates welcomed Governor AbdulRazaq to the community with prayers wishing the governor divine guidance as he knows reviving the company isn't going to be an easy task but with the dedication of the governor he believes that can be achieved.

The governor who revealed some of the issues critically looked into during his several meetings said issues like payment of 4years salaries of staffs owed by the company will be taken care of when the company resumes work again.

The coordinator of the company's staff Mr Joseph Asasile who has been with the company for over 30years appreciated the governor's effort at reviving the first sugar company in Nigeria while speaking on behalf of the workers. He reiterated that the youths of Bacita are hard working and ready to play their own part in ensuring the company returns back to full operation if engaged.

While appealing to them to exercise patience with his administration, Governor AbdulRazaq promised to speed up the process of repositioning the state back to viability for proportioned opportunities that will lead to enviable growth of all sectors in the state within the least expected time.
