Belgore, 30-year-old Guber candidate pledges to re-position Kwara

Date: 2018-12-28

Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Mr Ahmad Belgore, the governorship candidate of the Justice Must Prevail Party (JMPP) in the 2019 governorship election in Kwara, has called on the people of the state to vote for him to enable him "reclaim and reposition the state on the path of greatness".

The 30-year-old Belgore made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Thursday.

"Kwara is blessed with abundant human and natural resources, it is also rich in diversity in terms of culture and religion.

"If we are ever to translate the dream (Kwara blueprint) into reality, I urge my people to believe and work with me to achieve that objective.

"We must all resolve to come together as a team and reclaim the Kwara of our dream; a prosperous state built upon the rocks of justice.

"We must all rise as one to overcome this clog psychologically and physically,"he said.

Belgore, a graduate of Computer Science and Principal Partner at an IT solutions firm, is also about to complete his PhD.

The candidate noted that Kwara used to be like a meeting point for several tribes from different parts of the country, a sanctuary for all.

"But over the years, our collective progress as a people of wisdom and productivity has slowed down.

"Nowadays, we watch as our collective wealth wastes away without so much to show for it, this has to stop, our people have decided to demand freedom, justice and progress,"he said.

On why he chose to contest on the platform of JMPP, a newly-registered political party, Belgore said that JMPP had resolved to focus on the future of our dear nation and that Kwara deserved a great share of that.

"That is why I am taking on this challenge of reclaiming Kwara from the claws of those that have held it back for so long.

"It is a fact that blame games have taken a lot better share of our state's creative energy in the past.

"If given the chance, I will accelerate various initiatives to improve the livelihood of our people and ensure that fellow Kwarans enjoy a stronger sense of gain, happiness and security.

"The future is already here, the world has moved. The earlier we begin the journey of catching up the better,"he said.

When asked how to convince people that he had genuine intention to develop the state, he made a covenant that, "Once made, a promise is as weighty as a thousand bags of cement on my neck".

"It is my solemn commitment to have a mark in all rural communities and help to eradicate poverty.

NAN reports that JMPP would contest along with other political parties for the governor seat in the state in the March 2, 2019 governorship election.NAN
