Kwara Assembly urges KWSG to Connect Communities in Baruten LGA to National Grid

The Kwara State House of Assembly has called on the State Government to urgently intervene and connect communities along Ilesha- Baruba to Chikanda in Baruten Local Government to the national grid to further enhance the wellbeing of the people of the area.

The call was contained in the resolutions of the House, following a Matter of General Public Importance raised by member representing Okuta/ Yashikira Constituency, Hon. Adamu Usman on the need to complete the abandoned electrification project of communities along Ilesha-Baruba- Chikanda international route and connect them to the national grid.

The Deputy Speaker, Chief Mathew Okedare, who presided over the Wednesday's sitting, while reading the resolutions of the House, explained that the need to connect the affected communities to national grid, became expedient, to improve the standard of living of the people of the affected communities.

Meanwhile, the Legislature has felicitated and commended the State Government for ensuring that the state owned Harmony Advanced Diagnostic Centre won Radiology Service Provider of the Year, in the NHEA 2018 Awards.

The commendation, according to the House, was imperative, in view of the genuine commitment of the state government in ensuring availability of fund, equipment and quality human resources, thereby endearing the centre to become cynosure of all eyes to all Nigerians.

The resolution followed a Motion raised, by the chairman House Committee on Health and Environment and member representing Kaiama/Kemanji/Wajibe Constituency, Hon Ahmed Ibn Mohammed, on the feat attained by the Diagnostic Centre.

The Parliament equally eulogised the staff and management of the Centre, for making efficiency and effectiveness their watchwords,which according to it, endeared the Diagnostic Centre to teeming Nigerians seeking qualitative health investigations.

Other members, who contributed on the Motion, acknowledged the initiative of the immediate past Governor of the state and the current Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki in establishing the health facilities and enjoined the state government as well as management and staff of the centre, to see the recognition, as an impetus, for better performance and improved funding, to make it, the best in the country.
