Robbery attack: MAI Foundation boss sympathises with Offa community

Date: 2018-04-07

The Founder of Mohammed Ajia Ibrahim Foundation, Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Ajia, has expressed sadness over the robbery attack on commercial banks in Offa, Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State, which led to the death of some innocent people and policemen.

He said he received the news of the incident with rude shock, describing the attack as unfortunate.

A statement issued by Ajia, a copy of which was made available to Journalists, recalled that similar robbery incident was carried out by men of the underworld some years ago in Offa, resulting in number of casualties.

The MAI founder particularly expressed concern over what he called unwarranted attack on the ancient community of Offa, saying the people have been enjoying peace and tranquility before the armed bandits struck.

Ajia sympathized with the Olofa of Offa, Oba Muftau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, members of the community and the State Police command over the loss of life during the incident, praying God Almighty to give the bereaved families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

He however urged security agencies in the state to improve security measures across the state to ensure that the dastardly act on Offa community was not reenacted.

"The latest robbery attack in Offa really saddens me and I can't quantify the loss incurred during the incident. Offa community has been living in peace and tranquility and one wonders what could be the motive of the armed bandits to attack the peaceful community again.

"I recall that similar incident occurred some years back and I'm really sad by the number of people who lost their lives including policemen. It is quite unfortunate.

"I see this latest attack as quite pathetic. My heart is the families of people who lost their lives to the incident. I sympathize with the Olofa of Offa, the Offa community and the Kwara State Police Command for the loss of lives during the robbery attack.

"I pray Almighty God to console and comfort those who were affected in one way or the other, because this is an attack too many for us in this peace loving state", Ajia said.
