Gov Ahmed denies marginalisation of Kwara North

Date: 2018-03-06

The Kwara State Government has denied the rumour that communities in Kwara North are been marginalised in terms of infrastructural development, according to an online medium.

Speaking on a radio programme at weekend in Ilorin, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Communications, Dr Muideen Femi Akorede denied the report as untrue.

The online medium had reported that some groups claimed Kwara North has suffered a long neglect from the state government in terms of provision of basic social amenities.

Akorede reiterated the commitment of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed led-administration to bring impactful development to every part of the state amidst scarce resources.

He noted that Kwara State University, Malete is situated in Moro Local Government, Kwara North Senatorial district as well as ongoing KWASU School of Agriculture, Ilesha-Baruba.

He added that Kishi-Kaiama Road started by Kwara State before the Federal Government takes over the project in 2017 and Ilesha-Baruba-Gwanara Road is situated in Kwara North.

The Governor's Media Aide explained that Kwara North Senatorial district has large landmass, noting that no government can implement developmental works at once.

"All over the world, no government can meet Infrastructure gap and there will be a need for government to embark on development programmes. Kwara State government has not and would not neglect any part of the state. I will urge people to be patient with the incumbent government led by Governor Ahmed."
