Police stops further investigations into Offa/ Ijagbo crisis due to amicable resolution by the affected communities

The Kwara State Police Command says it will stop further actions or investigations into the crisis that broke out recently between Offa and Ijagbo communities in Offa and Oyun local government areas of the state.

The State commissioner of Police, Mr Lawan Ado disclosed this in his office today while answering questions from newsmen on the development .

According to him, since the two communities had resolved among themselves to settle the matter amicably, the police had decided to hands off but however, warned against any further breakdown of law and order among members of the two communities.

The police commissioner added that he had received report that the two communities met in Ilorin , the state capital and after their deliberations , they also agreed to set up a fourteen man committee from both sides to finally resolve the matter and to guide against a reoccurrence .

Mr Ado commended the leaders and the stakeholders of both Offa and Ijagbo communities for their magnanimity , majority and understanding in amicably finding a lasting solution to the matter.
