LG polls: PDP sues Kwara electoral body

?The Kwara State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has approached an appeal court to stop the forthcoming local government election scheduled to hold on November 18, 2017.

The State Caretaker Committee Chairman, Chief Tunde Akindehin, confirmed that his party had appealed against an earlier ruling of a high court, which dismissed its suit against Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWASIEC).

In his reaction, KWASIEC Chairman, Dr Uthman Abdulrahman Ajidagba, said the commission was yet to receive any evidence from the appellate court on the PDP suit, maintaining that the electoral umpire was on course with the conduct of the election.
