Basketball: Kaduna, Ilorin set for Conference 6 play-offs

With the conclusion of the regular season in the 2017 Kwese Premier Basketball League, action now shifts to the Conference Six scheduled to hold in two cities, Kaduna and Ilorin for the Savannah and Atlantic Conferences respectively from August 14 to 19, 2017.

According to the fixtures released by the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF technical Committee, the Indoor Sports Hall of the Ilorin Stadium,will host the Atlantic Conference teams while the Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Hall in Kaduna will host the Savannah Conference qualifiers.

Teams from the Savannah Conference, according to Mr Ajibarede Bello of the Kwese Premier League Management Committee, were expected to have arrived Kaduna today, Saturday while those from the Atlantic Conference are expected to arrive Ilorin tomorrow, Sunday.

The technical meeting to usher in the competition proper, he disclosed, holds Sunday, August 13 in Kaduna for the Savannah Conference and Monday, August 14 for the Atlantic Conference while the matches will dunk off on Monday for the Kaduna centre and Tuesday for the Ilorin centre.

He said that the teams which qualified after the regular season from the Savannah Conference are Kano Pillars, Gombe Bulls, Mark Mentors of Abuja, Niger Potters of Minna, Defenders of Abuja and Plateau Peaks.
