IAC helicopter training fully accredited – Rector

Date: 2017-04-17

The Rector of International Aviation College (IAC), Capt. Abdulmumini Abdulkarim has disclosed that the helicopter training has been fully accredited by Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

Speaking to Pilot Aviation in a telephone chat over the weekend, he said the full training has commenced smoothly.

It would be recalled that the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed flagged off the helicopter training for the college last year February.

The rector had also last month stated that the college begun demonstration of the helicopter flight for full commencement of operation and certification.

"We have started full helicopter training as the final accreditation and certification has been done simultaneously," he was explained.

According to him, the college has been operating Commercial Pilot License and Private Pilot License for five years, adding that the recent development has stood the college out in the aviation sector in Africa.

IAC has graduated over 100 pilots including Nigeria Airforce personnel and staff of some aviation organisations like Briton airline. Among the graduands was the former Speaker of Kwara State House of Assembly now a Member of Federal House of Representative, Hon. Abdulrazaq Atuwa, who graduated last year as a private pilot operator.

With the helicopter training, the college has become the first Aviation College in West African region to combine both Commercial Pilot and Helicopter Training.
