Protesting Okada Riders Disrupt Traffic in Parts of Ilorin
Commercial motorcycle operators, popularly known as Okada operators, took to the streets of major parts of Ilorin to protest against the State Government's decision to ban their operation in what the government calls business areas of Ilorin.
Vehicular and human movement was disrupted at Post-Office, Oja-Oba, parts of Taiwo Road and parts of Fate-Tanke. Many motorists had to turn back for fear of their cars being vandalised. Shop owners also hurriedly locked their shops in some of the areas visited.
The protests were still ongoing at Post-Office and Oja-Oba at the time of this report.
