Revenue: KWASAA warns against staff intimidation

Date: 2017-03-17

The Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASAA), has warned the general public to shun any act of violence against its staff while carrying out their duties.

The KWASAA's General Management, Alhaji Hameed Olufadi handed down the warning on Thursday while addressing the co-founder of LKB Barber's shop, who allegedly assaulted his staff during the revenue enforcement drive at Yoruba Road, Ilorin.

Olufadi warned that assault on KWASAA staff is a serious crime which, according to him, is a against the law.

He also stated that the agency would not condone any act of intimidation from any quarter on the agency staff on their statutory roles in regulating and collecting revenue in the state and that henceforth, offenders would be charged to the court of law to face the full wrath of the law.

A release signed by the agency's Press Secretary, Mallam Abubakar Owolabi, said the ugly incident occurred when the enforcement team asked the alleged attacker to pay mandatory revenue for the current year or have his signboard removed.

The enforcement team leader, Mr. Oladoye Samson, explained the one of the Barbers assaulted his team while asking them to pay their revenue bill.
