Kwara rural health programme gets a boost
Rural health delivery programme of the wife of Kwara State governor receives a boost, recently when the Chairperson, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Mrs Basira Mohammed, pledged to ensure success of the free medical health service called Mobile Clinic, embarked upon by the wife of the governor, Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed's pet project, Life Empowered Anchors Hope (LEAH) Foundation.
Speaking at the kick-off of the programme for Kwara South at Ajase-Ipo in the Irepodun Local
Government Area, Honourable Mohammed said all structures aimed at supporting the success of the project had been put in place.
"On our part as a responsive and responsible government and one closest to the people at the grassroots, we shall continue to contribute our own little quota to the success of the fight against deadly diseases. To this, I want to assure all and sundry that we shall continue to support all state initiatives and programmes that will better the lives of our people", she said.
While appreciating the magnanimity of the governor's wife and all the donor agencies for the efforts made to improve the lives of the people at the grassroots, the council boss assured that machineries had been put in place to mobilise and enlighten the people on the programme.
She also applauded the efforts and foresight of the immediate past governor of the state, Dr. Bukola Saraki, who she said had laid a firm foundation for socio-economic and political development of the state which he said the present administration led by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed was building on.
She expressed the optimism that both medical and social well being of the people would be greatly improved through the programme.
The council boss also praised the continued assistance of the Governor Ahmed-led government in the provision of cheap and affordable health care delivery, free education from primary to secondary school, reduction in KWASU tuition fees, among other development projects.
