Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ali Ahmad, has hailed the decision of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to select the former minister of sports, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, as its new Spokesperson as the best for the party.

Ahmad, in a congratulatory message issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Shuaib Abdulkadir, said Abdullahi's choice is one of the best thing to have happened to the party.

?He said the former minister as an experienced journalist and former columnist with a reputable newspaper in the country is armed with requisite knowledge to handle such sensitive position in the party.

?The Speaker recalled that since the appointment of Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the APC has been striving to find suitable candidate to fill the vacant office, describing Abdullahi's appointment as a round peg in a round hole.

Ahmad maintained that APC needs his expertise to enable the party improve its image in the society, especially with the current situation in the country. "His qualities are never in doubt, and all I can say is that the party" have selected a better and more suitable candidate for the task ahead.

"?As a former commissioner for education in Kwara State and minister of sports, his track records of achievements are there for everybody to see. And in fact, since he last served, the Sports Ministry has hardly been the same".
