Kwara graduates benefits from scheme

For necessary information applicants could log on to N-Power website. More than five thousand graduates and non-graduates in Kwara State have so far benefited from the Nigerian Government Special Investment Intervention projects, N-Power.

The spokesperson to the Nigerian government on the Project in Kwara State and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, Ayobola Samuel, who disclosed this while answering questions from VON, said the scheme is into four categories which includes education, agriculture and community health.

He maintained that "the exercise is a continuous one," urging those who were yet to be selected to "wait till the first quarter of next year for the second phase."

Mr. Samuel said for necessary information applicants could log on to N-Power website.

He advised selected candidates under the N-power Teach to visit SUBEB, those under N-Power, Agro to go to the Ministry of Agriculture, while those under the N-power Health should visit Ministry of Health where they would be deployed to their various places of work.

Extremely poor people

He also disclosed that all is now set for the disbursement of five thousand Naira to the selected extremely poor people across the country.

Permanent Secretary stated that 10 thousand, eight hundred million Naira would be disbursed annually as stipend to cushion the effect of extremely poverty confronting the people.

He stressed that, presently biometric of those that have been captured are with the Stanbic IBTC Bank for clarifications.

Mr. Samuel added that "effort are on towards ensuring that under the government employment and empowerment scheme, all interested artisans are encouraged to form a formidable group to access the available loans from the Ministry of Commerce."

He implored those that have benefited from the various federal government schemes to use the opportunities judiciously for the betterment of the economy.
